How to Read These Times

Every statistic in a row comes from one group of similar runners: the past runners who reached your last sighted station within a few minutes of your runner (before your first sighting, runners who finished near the Compare To time). Each row states the exact group size and window.

Earliest Ever is the left dot: the earliest any of the similar runners has ever arrived. In 11 years of races, nobody sighted where your runner was has arrived before this. In backtesting, about 1 in 40 future runners arrived before their group's earliest, usually by a few minutes.

50% by, at the top of each row, is the median: half the group had arrived by this time, half were still out. The light segment of the bar is the middle half of arrivals, so 25% of the group had arrived by its left edge and 75% by its right.

95% is the right dot: 1 in 20 of the group arrived later than this.

Every number is a plain statistic of real past runners; nothing is modeled or weighted. The group is rebuilt from your most recent sighting only. Older sightings are shown for reference but don't change the estimates (testing showed they don't help). All times come from official race timing, and data errors were removed at build time with a public log.
